Variety reports that:
Walt Disney Studios’ “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the action sequel that grossed nearly $260 million in U.S. theaters, was an easy winner, debuting at No. 1. Twentieth Century Fox’s “Brick Mansions,” a crime drama with a domestic box office gross of just $20.4 million, bowed at No. 2, although it only sold about 8.2% as many units as the “Captain America” followup.
Sony Pictures’ “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” slipped another notch to No. 3, while the previous week’s top seller, the Lionsgate sports drama “Draft Day,” fell to No. 4. Rounding out the top five was another newcomer, “Supernatural: The Complete Ninth Season,” from Warner Bros.
